Panthers won game three last night 8-2 at the Panorama Recreation Centre in front of a smaller then normal crowd. That should change in the next round, as the two top teams in the league will meet head on in what is expected to be one of the best South Division finals in some years. Victoria Cougars downed the Saanich Braves four games to one to await the winners of this series. Should the Panthers finish off the Stingers tonight, they will host the Cougars in game one Tuesday March 3rd, at Panorama. Puck will drop at 7:30 pm. If the Stingers were to force another game, it would be played Tuesday night. Last night the Panthers controlled the game from start to finish, as they have out scored their opponents 25 - 5 in the first three games. Westshore goaltender Taiyoh London gave the Stingers a strong performance in net throughout the game, but the scoring chances proved to much in the end. The games first star Nick Chalecki was leading by example again last night, infact that whole line once again with wingers Carson Baillie and Justin Isaac played another strong game. All three turned in another multiple point night. The games second star Ross Pattison played one of his best games to date with his new line mates Nick Johnston and Bryce Twa. This line has a bit of everything you could ask for, with hard hits from Johnston, play making by Twa, and the size and strength around the net by Pattison was nice to watch. Johnston had a good game after missing the last two weeks to an injury. Panthers will be without Pattison, and Stingers will miss their leading scorer Kyle Franzius tonight, as the two went at it late in the third period. Franzius appeared to start the fight right off the face off deep in the Stingers zone, but both players received five minutes for fighting. Pattison got an extra two for unsportsman like misconduct after the tilt. The games third star went to former Panther Brandon Francisco who scored once, and used his speed all over the ice in a losing effort. We are sorry but we do not have premission to broadcast tonight's match-up, but live updates will be posted on our web-site.
