The Peninsula Panthers have announced the signing of two rookie forwards for the 2010-2011 season.
Sixteen year old Peninsula Minor Hockey product Dane Gibson and 17 year old former Victoria Cougar Kyle Peterson have both committed to the Panthers.
Gibson played last season for the South Island Thunderbirds Major Midget team and produced 10 goals and 7 assists for 17 points. Dane regularly practiced with the Panthers last season and played several games as an affiliate player. Dane has also been selected to the 2010 U17 Provincial Development Camp this July where he will compete for a spot on Team Pacific.
Kyle Peterson began last season playing for the Victoria Cougars of the VIJHL before returning to the Kerry Park Midget AA team part way into the season. Kyle is described as an offensive minded player who brings a great work ethic to the rink every night.
"We are very happy to be adding both Dane and Kyle to our lineup", said Panthers GM/Head Coach Geoff Grimwood. "Both players are considered amoung the better young players on the Island and definitely fit in with the type of players we want in our lineup".
