Panthers work out a deal with Squamish Wolfpack of the PIJHL, picking up 6’4” 200lb, twenty year-old forward Ross Pattison. Ross has played in 21 games this season scoring 11 goals, adding 11 assists for 22 points, and racked up 139 minutes in penalties. Ross was the leading scorer on the Wolfpack, and his size and physical play is something that fits in with our clubs needs. “I am looking forward to playing for the Panthers, I am very excited to get the chance to play on a winner in my final year of junior hockey” said Ross from his billets house in Squamish. “The Panthers are on a roll, and I would like to be a part of that” added Pattison.

Panthers also picked up twenty year-old left-wing Nicholas Johnston. Johnston has played 27 games fighting nagging injuries, “ I feel a whole lot better now, and I am ready to put up the numbers I should be” said Johnston. Last season Nick played for Antigonish Junior “A” Bulldogs before returning to his hometown to play for the Wolfpack in their first year in the PIJHL. “I am looking forward to joining the Panthers for my final season, and want to finish my last year strong. I want to play Div.3 hockey next year” said Johnston from his home in Squamish.

“We are very happy to add two players who we feel will help us down the stretch and in the play-offs. Both of these guys will bring depth to our forward lines, and we know from last years play-off run how important that will be to us” said General Manger Gord Bridges. When asked if there are any more moves Bridges said “ this move puts us at 21 players, we may add one more if the right player were to come along. We have a great bunch of guys, and the team chemistry couldn’t be better. Those guys in that dressing room have worked very hard all year, I only want to add what we think will give them the best chance to win. They deserve that for their efforts this year. Those guys want to win, and they are having fun doing it"

Both players will be at practice Monday night, and play in their first game with the Cats next Friday night when we host their cross-town rival Victoria Cougars.
